After hitting the baseball, Rachel runs 30 feet to first base and stops. She pauses for a moment and after the first baseman drops the ball, Rachel runs 30 feet to second base. Sketch a graph to show the distance that Rachel travels compared to time. Use your graph to find the total distance traveled.

The distance tht Racheal ran is 60 feet

How to get the distance

Time is on the x-axis (horizontal axis).

Distance traveled is on the y-axis (vertical axis).

At time = 0 seconds, Rachel is at first base (0 feet).

At time = 1 second, Rachel moves to second base (30 feet).

The graph will have two steps: a horizontal line at 0 feet until 1 second, then a horizontal line at 30 feet after 1 second.

Rachel runs 30 feet from first base to second base twice.

Total distance = Distance from first base to second base (30 feet) * Number of times (2)

Total distance = 30 feet * 2 = 60 feet

After hitting the baseball, Rachel runs 30 feet to first base and stops. She pauses-example-1
