It is considered traditional animation on "gel paper." Using the basics of art.

CGI is solely computer generated and it is used for fake objects made to look real in our world. (Ted, Transformers, etc)

Too complexed to state in a sentence.

To protect the common good and creative essence of our ideas.

It ultimately boils down to creative decisions, but stop motion is more three dimensional than that of cel.
