The linear equation using (1,3) and (-3,4) is
y =(-1x)/(4) +(13)/(4)

How to get the linear equation

we have to solve for the slop

4 -3 / -3 - 1

= 1 / -4

Now that you have the slope, use one of the points (1, 3) along with the slope in the point-slope formula to find the equation:

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - 3 = -1 /4(x - 1)

simplify this

y-3 = (-1)/(4) x +(1)/(4)

y = (-1x +1+12)/(4)

y =(-1x)/(4) +(13)/(4)
