You plan to sell each cake for $50. Write an equation that represents your total earnings, T, based on the price of your cake and how many you sell. Let x represent the number of cakes you sell.

Answer: T = 50x

For instance if you sell x = 1 cake, then you earn T = 50x = 50*1 = 50 dollars.

Or if you sold x = 2 cakes, then T = 50x = 50*2 = 100 dollars.

Or if you sold x = 3 cakes, then T = 50x = 50*3 = 150 dollars.

And so on.
