The only way to different organisms of two different species to interbreed is that they have to have a similar number of chromosomes that match or at least enough that can match to be able to produce together, an example would be is a wolf and a fox, a wolf has 78 chromosomes whereas a fox has 36 so they wouldn't be able to interbreed.
