x+6= length
x=width
x+x+6=62

2x=56
x=28

Width=28
Length= 28+6=34
Length =34

Answer:

width = -3 + √71

length = 3 + √71

Explanation:

length = x + 6

width = x

area = length × width = 62

x(x + 6) = 62

x² + 6x - 62 = 0

x = \frac{-6 \pm √(6^2 - 4(1)(-62)){2(1)}

x = \frac{-6 \pm √(36 + 248){2}

x = -3 \pm √(71)

x = -3 + √71 or x = -3 - √71

We discard the negative answer.

x = -3 + √71

x + 6 = 3 + √71
