The measure of the angle x which is the smallest angle is 20 degrees

To determine the value of x, we have to know the following;

  • Angles on a straight line is 180 degrees
  • Alternating angles are equal
  • Corresponding angles are equal

Then, we have that;

90 + x + 40 + 30 = 180

Now, we have to collect the like terms, we get;

x = 180 - 160

Subtract the values, we get;

x = 20 degrees
