The x-value of the given point is:

x = (2√6)/5

How to find the value of x?

We know that the equation of the shown circle is:

x² + y² = 1

And we want to find the x-value of the point (x, -5/7) which we know that lies on the circle.

Replacing y by -5/7 in the equation wewill get:

x² + (-5/7)² = 1

x² + 25/49 = 1

x = √(1 - 25/49)

x = √(24/25)

x = √4*√6/(5)

x = (2√6)/5
