The y-intercept is (0, 2.5). The x-intercept is (1.66666667, 0)

How to determine the intercepts of a linear equation.

A linear equation is an equation whose highest variable has a power of 1. The graph of a linear equation is a straight line graph. The intercepts of a linear equation are x-intercept(the value of x when y is zero) and y-intercept(the value of y when x is zero).

To determine the y intercept from the graph, we need to set the value of x in the given equation to be zero.

i.e.

3x + 2y = 5

3(0) + 2(y) = 5

2y = 5

y = 5/2

y = 2.5

Therefore y - intercept = (0, 2.5)

To determine the x intercept from the graph, we need to set the value of y in the given equation to be zero.

i.e.

3x + 2y = 5

3x + 2(0) = 5

3x = 5

x = 5/3

x = 1.66666667

Therefore x - intercept = (1.66666667, 0)
