A farmer purchased a large circular field with an area of 1,017.36 square yards to build a farm. The farmer wants to

walk the fence around the entire perimeter to make sure it is secure. How many yards will he/she be walking?

Area of the circular field = πr²

r is the radius

Given

Area = 1,017.36 square yard

1,017.36 = πr²

r² = 1,017.36/3,14

r² = 324

r = √324

r = 18yds

Get the circumference

C = 2πr

C = 2(18)(3.14)

C = 113.04yds

Hence he/she must have been walking for 113.04feet
