Given:

Diameter of a circle = 2 feet

To find:

The area of a circle.

Solution:

We know that, area of a circle is

A=\pi r^2

Where, r is the radius of the circle.

Diameter of a circle = 2 feet

So, radius of the circle =
(2)/(2)=1 feet

Putting r=1 and
\pi=3.14 in the above formula, we get

A=(3.14)(1)^2

A=(3.14)(1)

A=3.14

Therefore, the area of the circle is 3.14 sq. feet.
