The lateral surface area is equivalent to 864

The LSA (Lateral Surface Area) of a prism is given by the formula:

LSA = 2 Bh

  • B is the base perimeter
  • h is the height

For a rectangular prism (which has a rectangular base):

p = 2(l + b)

Given your values:

P = 2(4 + 5)

P = 2(9)
P = 18

Now, substitute this into the LSA formula:

L = 2 * 24 * 18

L = 864

Therefore the lateral surface area is equivalent to 864
