Explanation:

FE and GD are congruent

2u - 36 = u

subtract 2u from both sides (-36 = -u)

divide each side by -1 ( u = 36)

now that you know the value of u plug it into the equation 2u -36

the equation is now 2(36)-36

2 times 36 equals 72

now do 72 - 36 and you get 36

that is the value of line segment EF
