Explain why colonists were angry with the tea act?

The Tea Act (1773) said the only company that could sell tea in the colonies was the British East India Company. Colonists were already upset about the tea tax passed in 1767. But the Tea Act is what pushed them to dump the tea in the Boston Harbor - the “Boston tea party”
