Alicia charges $5.5 (5 dollars and 50 cents) and 16 cents for the other

How to solve for the charge

Equation 1: 10p + 6w = 193

Equation 2: 2p + w = 37.50

Using simultaneous linear equation we have to solve for P and W

2 * (10p+6w=193) --> 20p + 12w = 386

10 * (2p+w=37.50) --> 20p + 10w = 375

subtract

20p + 12w = 386 - (20p + 10w = 375) - (20p + 10w = 375)

12w - 10w = 386 - 375

2w = 11

w = 5.5

Put the value of w in 1

10p + 6 * 5.5 = 193

10p + 33 = 193

10p = 160

p = 160/10

p = 16
