Cotton, jute, sun hemp, and flax are some of the most important fiber crops, which require sunny hard conditions to grow such as those experienced in India.

Cotton ( with the scientific name of Gossypium spp.) is the most important in terms of fiber production in India, which requires many photoperiod conditions associated with an average day length as observed in India.

This cultivation requires also a good source of water to grow in normal conditions, which is a benefit in India as rains are abundant across most areas cultivated in this extensive country.
