Reread Act IV, Scene i, lines 171–175, in which Ariel describes Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban to Prospero. What does Ariel mean when he says that Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban were “red-hot with drinking” and “full of valor”? What does he mean when he says that they are “always bending / Towards their project”?

In Act IV, Scene I, lines 171-175, Ariel describes Stephano, Trinculo, and Caliban to Prospero in a way that suggests that the trio is heavily intoxicated.

What is the description?

The line, Always bending / Towards their project reveals that despite their drnness and erratic behavior, the trio still maintains a goal. They have not forgotten Caliban's plan to overthrow Prospero and claim the island as their own. Even in their intoxicated state, they subconsciously remain focused on their objective.

Ariel's description can be seen as ironic because while the men appear powerful and motivated, their actions are often comical and ineffective due to their intoxication.
