Explanation:

1)Firstly you have to find the nth term of the sequence -10,-5,0,5. There a gap or +5 in each term meaning it's 5n. If we substitute n with the number it is in the sequence we can find out the next part of the nth term. For example the first number of the sequence is -10 meaning 5n+x = -10. We repleace n with the 1 since it is the first number in the sequence and we get 5+x = -10. In order to find x by itself we -5 from both sides and we get x =-15. Now we know the nth term of -10,-5,0,5 is 5n-15

2) Now that the hard part is out of the way the rest is simple. N simply reprents the term the number is in. If we want to find out the 38th term we replace n with 38. We get 5x38-15 = 175
