The equation represents the relationship between the side length, x, and the perimeter, y is y = 4x

How to solve for the equation

We have that the side of the shape is given to be x

The perimeter of this shape is said to be y

The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is

P = 2L + 2W

The variables are: L = length and W = width

If the given shape is a squate the perimeter of the shape would be gotten with 4L

Hence

P = 4x

Where perimeter P = Y

Hence the perimeter Y will be;

Y = 4x

Quwstion

Which equation represents the relationship between the side length, x, and the perimeter, y? y = one-fourth x y = 4x y = x + 13.5 y = x – 13.5
