The equation which models the relationship is: y = 2.75x

From the table , the difference between each successive points is the same . Hence , the relationship is proportional.

We can obtain the equation thus ;

• y = kx
• k = constant of proportionality

Using the point (3, 8.25)

8.25 = 3k

k = 8.25/3

k = 2.75

Hence, the equation becomes : y = 2.75x
