The electronic configuration of sodium includes electrons distributed in the 1s, 2s, and 2p orbitals as shown in the image.

How to draw p and s orbital for Sodium?

The electronic configuration of sodium is given as;

Na = 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s¹

This means that sodium has electrons in the 1s, 2s, and 2p orbitals.

The electron distribution in the p and s orbitals for sodium is;

1s orbital: This orbital is represented with two arrows for 1s².

2s orbital: This orbital is represented with two arrows in opposite direction for 2s².

2p orbitals: This orbital is represented with three separate blocks each with two arrows for 2p⁶.

3s orbital : This orbital will contain one arrow.
