The amount she will donate for scholarship for business and liberal arts is $125 and $875 respectively.

What amount did she donate for each type of scholarship?

Let

x = the amount that she donates for scholarships for business.

The amount that she donates for liberal arts = 7x

Total amount donated = $1000

The equation:

x + 7x = 1000

8x = 1000

Divide both sides by 8

x = 1000/8

x = 125

Therefore,

The amount that she donates for scholarships for business = x

= $125

The amount that she donates for liberal arts = 7x

= 7(25)

= $875
