Explanation:

Since AB and AC are congruent , then Δ ABC is isosceles with base angles congruent , that is

∠ ABD = ∠ ACD = 47°

AD is the perpendicular bisector of BC , so

∠ ADB = x = 90

the sum of the 3 angles in Δ ABD = 180° , then

y = 180° - (90 + 47) = 180 - 137 = 43
