U have to find the hypoteneouse side..

That would be the longest side..

so..

a = the side ur looking for..

b = the smallest side = CD(18m)

c = The second longest side = BC(36m)

so..

u do..

36(2) = (square root) a(2) + 18(2) (2) = squared(btw)

since, 18(2) = 324

and 36(2) = 1296

you do

1296 = (square root) a(2) + 324

so...

1296 - 324 = 972

and the square root of 972 is 31.17

So THE ANSWER IS 31.17
