a. Translation: Only lengths change; b. Enlargement: Both lengths and angles change; c. Reflection: Neither lengths nor angles change, the same also for d. Rotation.

What happens to a figure after a transformation?

a) Translation: Only lengths change because the shape moves from one location to another without any change in angles.

b) Enlargement (or dilation): Both lengths and angles change because enlargement involves scaling the shape, increasing or decreasing the lengths of its sides, and changing the angles.

c) Reflection: Neither lengths nor angles change because in a reflection, the shape is flipped over a line (mirror line), but the lengths of the sides and the angles between them remain the same.

d) Rotation: Neither lengths nor angles change because in a rotation, the shape is turned about a fixed point (the center of rotation), but the lengths of the sides and the angles between them remain constant.
