Length x, in mm is 10π mm or 31.42 mm

The total surface area of the cylinder, in mm squared is 80π mm² or 251.36 mm²

How to determine the total surface area of a cylinder.

Given

radius = 5 mm, h = 3 mm

a) x is the circumference of the circular curved surface (spherical surface).

circumference of circle= 2πr

where

r is radius

x = 2πr

x = 2*5π = 10π mm or 31.42 mm

b) Total surface area = area of circular bases + area of curved surface.

There are two circular bases

Area of circle = πr²

For the two circles = 2πr²

Area of rectangular net = x * h

h = 3 mm

TSA = 2πr² + xh

= 2*π*(5)² + 10π*3

= 50π + 30π

= 80π mm² or 251.36 mm²

Length x, in mm is 10π mm or 31.42 mm

The total surface area of the cylinder, in mm squared is 80π mm² or 251.36 mm²
