White flight was when a large amount of Americans left the cities for the suburbs after WW2. This continued on until the 1970s. This happened since lots of people were still racist back then. All the whites leaving and mass immigration has made some Americans believe in white genocide theory. Red lining is when the government decided certain areas were risky for investment because black people lived there. This happened in the 1930s as part of the new deal. All of these happened as most people were more racist and probably more hateful since they were struggling during the Great Depression. Racism was more prevalent during the 1930s era.
