The range of the function in set notation is {-8, 0, 6, 8}
How to find the range?
The range of a function y = f(x) is the set of the outputs of the function.
Here we know that the function is:
f(x) = 2x + 2
And the domain (set of possible inputs) is {-5, -1, 2, 3}, to get the range, we need to evaluate the function in each of the possible inputs:
f(-5) = 2*-5 + 2 = -10 + 2 = -8
f(-1) = 2*-1 + 2 = 0
f(2) = 2*2 + 2 = 6
f(3) = 2*3 + 2 = 8
Then the range is {-8, 0, 6, 8}
