In France, at the beginning of the school year, each class elects its délégués de classe (student representatives). The délégués de classe represent their fellow students during the conseil de classe (class council). He or she can defend students and also participate in any other conversations at the same level as the teachers and administrators. Teachers, administrators and délégués de classe of each grade meet three times a year. Each student's grade and the academic results of the entire class are discussed during those meetings. Other topics discussed may include discipline and classroom logistics. The délégués de classe also attend the conseil de discipline (disciplinary council). ET TOI? 1. What role does the student representative play at your school? 2. What role does the school council play at your school?
