The data in the table indicates that the representation of the distances from Jorge's house are;

a. 6.38

b. 9 1/2 miles

c. 3 1/6 miles

The steps used to find the representation of the distances are as follows;

a. The data from the table indicates that we get;

Distance Jorge's house to Tye's house is; 17 13/18 miles

Distance from Jorge's house to Jamal's house is; 2 7/9 miles

17 13/18/(2 7/9)= 319/18/(25/9)

319/18/(25/9) = (319/18) × (9/25)

(319/18) × (9/25) = 6.38

Therefore, Tye lives 6.38 times further than Jamal

b. The mean number of miles that Jorge's friends live from his house can be found as follows;

Mean = (5 1/2 + 8 2/3 + 12 5/6 + 2 7/9 + 17 13/18)/5

5 1/2 + 8 2/3 + 12 5/6 + 2 7/9 + 17 13/18 = (11/2 + 26/3 + 76/6 + 25/9 + 319/18)

(11/2 + 26/3 + 77/6 + 25/9 + 319/18) = (99 + 156 + 231 + 50 + 319)/18

(99 + 156 + 228 + 50 + 319)/18 = 855/18

(5 1/2 + 8 2/3 + 12 5/6 + 2 7/9 + 17 13/18)/5 = (855/18)/5

(852/18)/5 = 852/90

Therefore; (5 1/2 + 8 2/3 + 12 5/6 + 2 7/9 + 17 13/18)/5 = 855/90

855/90 = 9 1/2

The mean number of miles that Jorge's friends live from his house = 9.5 miles

c. The distance from Lon's house to Jorge's house is 8 2/3 miles

The distance from Lucia's house to Jorge's house is 5 1/2 miles

Please find attached a bar diagram showing the distances each of the friends travel, which indicates that the distance Lon travels than Lucia to Jorge's house is; 8 2/3 - 5 1/2 = 3 1/6 miles
