Ax^2+bx+c is the first degree polynomial of x which of these letters equal zero?

First degree polynomials means that the maximum power x is raised up to that does not have a coefficient 0 is 1. And here we have a term ax^2 which means it could not be a first degree polynomial if a has a positive or negative value. Thus, letter a in this case should be 0 in order for this to be a first degree polynomial of x.
