X + 6 + 3x = 5x - 4

I need help because I don’t really know how to do this. This is for geometry

Answer: x = 10

Explanation:

x + 6 + 3x = 5x - 4

First you want to group your like values together

6 +4 = 5x - 3x - x

Note that when any value crosses the = sign, The sign in front of it (+/-) changes. (e.g. -4 changes to +4 after it crosses the = sign)

Then work out your values

10 = x

Also note that x is the same as 1x. So you minus 3x from 5x to get 2x and 2x minus 1x is equal to 1x which is the same as x.
