Inequality 1: y < 1

Inequality 2:y => -3.

How to determine inequality equation represented by a line graph.

For horizontal line, equation of lines parallel to x- axis is always represents as

y = a,

where

a is the y-intercept of the line.

Equation 1 is y = 1 and equation 2 is y = -3

Convert the equations to inequalities by observing line if it is broken line or thick and continuous line.

For y = 1

The line is a broken line, the boundary is not included in solution.

And the area below the line is shaded( that is the area below are where the solution lies.

Therefore, the inequality 1 is y < 1

For y = -3

The line graph is thick and continuous ( that is the boundary line is concluded)

Area is above the line is shaded ( that is the solutions lies equals to or greater than the boundary line)

Therefore, the inequality 2 is y => -3.

inequality 1: y < 1

inequality 2:y => -3
