The dimensions of a smaller rectangle are 3 ft by 9 ft. The dimensions of a larger rectangle are 5 ft by 11 ft. Find the ratio of the perimeter of the rectangle to the perimeter of the smaller rectangle

Answer: C

Explanation:

To find the perimeter of a rectangle , you need to use the formula

P = 2l + 2w where P is the perimeter, l is the length, w is the width.

Input the dimensions, for each rectangle and solve for the P

P = 2(3) + 2(9)

P = 6 + 18

P = 24

P = 2(5) + 2(11)

P = 10 + 22

P = 32

The smaller rectangle has a perimeter of 24 and the large rectangle has a perimeter of 32

The ratio will be 32 : 24 which breaks down to 4: 3
