Height at which the ladder rests against the wall is 9.18 cm to the nearest hundredth.

How the height of the school wall is calculated.

Given

The length of the ladder = 13.5 m

Angle between the ladder and the ground is 43⁰

To calculate the height, h

Let us use the sine ratio

sinθ = opposite/hypotenuse

θ = 43⁰

hypotenuse (length of ladder) = 13.5 m

Opposite to the angle 43⁰(height)

sin43 = h/13.5

h = 13.5 sin43

From the table

sin43 = 0.68

h = 13.5 * 0.68

= 9.18 cm

Therefore, height at which the ladder rests against the wall is 9.18 cm to the nearest hundredth.
