If I had written TKAM, I would change the sentence given to Tom, because I believe that this would give the reader some comfort and allow the good to win and justice to be done fairly and correctly. However, I understand that this ending is not realistic and that it would not make the book have the same impact that it has and that made it such an important book in our society. I believe that my change would provoke an idealized and unrealistic story, which would give people a wrong view of how racist and intolerant our society is.
