Start with the total amount of people --> 60

Then split by gender. They told us there were 26 men. Using subtraction (60-26=34) we find the amount of women in the group is 34

Now split up by sports. We know 12 men prefer football so using subtraction again (26-12=14) we found how many prefer rugby(14)

Now to find the amount of women who like rugby we are told that 42 people like Rugby. Since we know the mens amount already we can subtract again (42-14=28) and find out that 28 of the people who like rugby are women

To find the amount of women who like football we will take the total amount of women(34) and subtract the women who like rugby(28) after you do that you get 6 women who like football.
