A teacher wants to choose a student at random. The teacher decides to choose the first person to walk through the classroom door at the start of the lesson.

a. Explain why this is not a good method.

Answer:

It is not a good method because the first person to walk through the door should be rewarded for being on time and it is pretty much that the first person to walk in is always the first to walk in

They should have a volunteer and make them do it step by step for other kids to see or if someone is late make them do it

A. The method is not a good method because the student that walks through the door first is probably the student who always walks through the door first. This makes the choosing not random and makes it a biased choice.

B. The teacher should pulls sticks with the students names on it, or use a random name generator.
