The coordinates of the point F are (-2,-8) and the coordinates of point G are (10,-8). What is the distance, in units, between the point F and point G?

Answer:

12 units

Explanation:

notice that the y coordinate (-8) is the same for both points. you can ignore it and just look at the x coordinates. To calculate the distance, you use point a minus point b, so in this case it is 10-(-2). two negatives make positive, so the answer is 12 units.
