By applying the distance between coordinates formula, the length of HG is: D. 3.2.

In Mathematics and Geometry, the distance between two (2) end points that are on a coordinate plane can be calculated by using the following mathematical equation:

Distance =
√((x_2-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2)

Where:

x and y represent the data points (coordinates) on a cartesian coordinate.

Based on the graph, we can logically deduce the following coordinates for both points;

H = (-2, 1)

H = (1, 2)

By substituting the given end points (-2, 1) and (1, 2) into the distance formula, we have the following;

Distance \;HG= √((x_2-x_1)^2 + (y_2-y_1)^2)\\\\Distance \;HG = √((1-(-2))^2 + (2-1)^2)\\\\Distance \;HG = √((1+ 2)^2 + (2-1)^2)\\\\Distance \;HG = √((3)^2 + (1)^2)\\\\Distance \;HG= √(9 + 1)\\\\Distance \;HG = √(10)

Distance = 3.1623 ≈ 3.2 units.
