Final answer:

Caleb's BMI of 22.2 categorizes him in the normal weight range according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) standards.

Step-by-step explanation:

Caleb's current BMI of 22.2 is classified as normal weight.

BMI stands for Body Mass Index and is used to assess a person's weight relative to their height. It is calculated by dividing a person's weight in kilograms by the square of their height in meters.

For Caleb, since we have his weight and height, we can calculate his BMI using the following formula:

BMI = weight (kg) / (height (m))^2

Using Caleb's weight of 146 pounds (which is approximately 66.2 kilograms) and his height of 5'8" (which is approximately 1.73 meters), we can calculate his BMI as follows:

BMI = 66.2 kg / (1.73 m)^2 = 22.2

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal weight. Since Caleb's BMI of 22.2 falls within this range, he is classified as normal weight.
