Bria asked her classmates whether they prefer math or science. Nine of her classmates said math and eight of her
classmates said science. Which inequality correctly compares the fraction who prefer science to the fraction who

Explanation:

Might be wrong with my answer but my logic was that if there are 9 students who prefer math and 8 who prefer science, that there are 17 students total. If there are 17 students total the denominator should be 17. Since 8 of them prefer science, we can write that as 8/17 because 8 out of the 17 students prefer science. Similarly we can write the number of students who prefer math as 9/17 because there are 9 students out of 17 who do.
