The average rate of change from x = -9 to x = -5 is -2

How to find the rate of change

The average of change is solved using the formula

= (change in y) / (change in x)

Using the points from the graph, (-9, 1) and (-5, -7)

= (1 - (-7)) / (-9 - (-5)

= 8 / -4

= -2

The average rate of change is -2
