Answer:

First: Multiply the numbers

2 x 10 + 2 (x -4)

20+2(x-4)

Secondly: Distribute

20+2(x-4)=

20 + 2x - 8

Thirdly: Subtract the numbers

20 + 2x - 8=

12 + 2x

Lastly: Rearrange terms

12 + 2x

2x + 12

And that would leave us with our answer 2x + 12!
