I have recently been working with lyophilized products mostly food based items and sometimes medicinal plants (not cannabis) but I keep running into an issue when I grind the items into a powder the powders develop a static charge is there a way to reduce this? Should I manually grind them using a mortar and pestle instead of an electric grinder. Or is there another method that does not involve adding moisture back to the powders as they need to stay as dry as possible.

Final answer:

To reduce static charge when grinding lyophilized products into a powder, you can manually grind them using a mortar and pestle instead of an electric grinder. Alternatively, a small amount of moisture can be added back to the powders by lightly misting them with water.

Step-by-step explanation:

When grinding lyophilized products into a powder, the powders can develop a static charge. One way to reduce this is to manually grind the items using a mortar and pestle instead of an electric grinder. The friction between the particles in an electric grinder can cause the development of static charge.

Another method to reduce static charge is to add a small amount of moisture back to the powders. This can be done by lightly misting the powders with water, as long as the moisture content is kept as low as possible to maintain their dryness.
