THE ANSWER IS: length: 17ft, width: 56 ft

let x be the length of the rug, so the width would be 3x+5

the perimeter is found by: 2length + 2width
so, 2(x) + 2(3x+5)

set this equal to 146 since the perimeter is given, and solve for x

x is 17, which is the length and
3(17)+5 is 56, which is the width
