A circular flower garden has a diameter of 16 ft. A square pond is placed in the center that measures 5 ft on each side. About how much area of the garden remains for the flower garden

Explanation:

Given data

Diameter of circular garden= 16ft

Radius of garden= 16/2= 8ft

Length of side of square pond= 5ft

Area of circular garden= πr^2

A=3.142*16^2

A= 3.142*256

A=804.352 ft^2

Area of square pond

A= L^2

A= 5^2

A= 25ft

Hence the area that remains

=Area of circular garden- Area of square pond

=804.352- 25

= 779.352 ft^2
