The rating I would give this book would be a 4/5 stars. I think that the book depicted racial struggles that negros had to go through during that time period, the trial showed that people are accused sometimes only due to color. It also showed the system of social classes with the rich being on top and the poor being on the bottom. I think the book also highlighted that you must fight till the end for your freedom and justice. Some things that I disliked about the book was the use of the word negros, I know it is historically what was said but us teenagers are immature and I heard people using the word inappropriately. Some things I liked about the book was the structure of it and the timeline because it was very easy to follow. Another thing that I liked about the book was the immense detail it helped me imagine what I was reading and kept me engaged as a reader. If I were to make any changes to the book I would change the use of the word negro but rather than that I would keep to book the same.
