Final answer:

An open conversation script demonstrates a dialogue without assumptions, focusing on mutual understanding and support. A closed conversation script shows the impact of assumptions in a dialogue, followed by a resolution and understanding.

Step-by-step explanation:

Open Conversation Script

Riley: "Hi Brendan, how's your day going?"
Brendan: "Hi Riley, it's going pretty well. Just a bit busy with all the work. How about you?"
Riley: "I'm good too, feeling a bit overwhelmed with the science project."
Brendan: "I understand, it's a lot. Maybe we could work on it together?"
Riley: "That would be great! I appreciate the offer."
Brendan: "No problem, it's always easier to tackle big projects as a team. Let's plan a time."

Closed Conversation Script

Riley: "Hi Brendan, you didn't show up to the science group meeting yesterday."
Brendan: "Hi Riley, I'm sorry I missed it. I had a family commitment."
Riley: "Oh, I assumed you just didn't want to contribute to the project."
Brendan: "No, that's not it at all. I really want to help. Can we reschedule?"
Riley: "Sure, I apologize for jumping to conclusions. Next time I'll ask first."
Brendan: "Thanks for understanding, I'll make sure to communicate better in the future too."
