ADD 3 and DIVIDE by -2 to get the natural log expression by itself on the left.

Then convert to an exponential equation. Ln means that the base is e (e is a special number,but in fact, just a number)

e^(-5) -1 can be calculated on a calculator. There is usually an e^x button, then enter -5 exponent. Lastly subtract one.
